Personality Tests: Back With a Vengeance

1. As if school were not enough, once your get out into the real world chances are you will be subjected to a test to get a job. What is your opinion of this practice by employers? Is this reasonable, fair, scary...?

Ans: In my opinion, I think that it is an absolute waste of resources and time. When taking the test, people may give answers that they think are the best, meaning that they would pick all the best, positive answers that they think will get them the job. This test is only a way to get to know the person better, only if the person answers truthfully. His or her true colours will not show, in this case, until he or she gets the job. After all, nobody can live a life where everything is false. If his or her attitude in work in negative, you would know that he did not answer truthfully on the personality test. Lastly, before going for the test or job interview, people may research and try to find answers that will get them into the workforce. Again, it is a total waste of time and resources.

2. Why is it reasonable or perhaps even wise to subject/ introduce you to the type of testing you may encounter in the real world?

Ans: It would be an advantage that would prove useful when you take the test in the real world. In my opinion, it is a kind of preparation for you before taking the actual test. You would know what the test consists of so that you can prepare for it. It is more of a psychology thing. If you think the test is worthless, then it is worthless. If you think the test is beneficial, then it would be beneficial. It is all up to you.

3. Even if these test you have taken sound nothing like how you believe yourself to be, how can they be useful?

Ans: These test are not a 100% accurate. They are designed to give you a rough idea of how you are like. Besides, the results of the test may be a hidden power in you that you have yet to unlock. Like I said, they give you a brief description of yourself in that particular area. You will be able to learn more about yourself, qualities that you did not even know that existed within you. If the results of the test are negative, you can review it and improve yourself based on it. Each and every test taken is a learning opportunity. It is all beneficial, regardless of whether they are true or untrue about you.
