Lifestyle

1. Define Lifestyle
To me, lifestyle is the way people live, the activities that they normally do. Basically, it is about a person's life. Their thoughts are what shape their lifestyle.

2. Do you want a better lifestyle than you have now, when you are independent from your parents?
Right now, my lifestyle is pretty good. and I like it a lot. I'm actually living a comfortable life and my needs and most of my wants are meet. I would like my lifestyle to improve when I'm independent from my parents. Although most of my needs and wants are met, the lifestyle that I desire is different from the one I currently have right now due to age restrictions, education and many other factors. When I grow up, my lifestyle will continue to improve until I have my desired lifestyle. After all, Rome wasn't built in a day.

3. Do you think you can provide yourself a lifestyle as good as you have now?
In my opinion, I am able a provide myself with a lifestyle that is even better than my current one. That is when get older and more mature. Right now, I am dependent on my parents for education, clothing, shelter and so on.

4. How much do you cost your parents every month?

I probably cost my parents hundreds of dollars every month. The exact amount is unknown. There are too many variables to calculate.

5. How is your Post Secondary School going to be paid for?
From the way I look at things, I'm probably going to have to pay majority of the fees with a little or no support from my parents. I would develop a plan with parents in order to progress, but I will most likely be the person who pays for almost everything.

Does it make sense?

1. How is it legal age of consent contrary to our societies belief?

The legal age of consent is 14 years- old. It is contrary to our societies belief in a way that the legal age is too low. Immaturity always plays a part in this. Although people mature fast, their maturity has yet to reach the stage in which they are able to fully think for themselves. We children have always depended on our parents for our wants and needs. Different parents have different opinions. It doesn't mean that once you become a teenager means you've reached the stage where you can fully think for yourself. The society has always thought that. My parents, for example, think that the appropriate legal age of consent should be 16. The society is more towards the liberal side as it is more and more exposed to the world. The world, along with the people are changing. After all, people can't stay the same, can they?

2. Considering the required ages to participate in the previous rights of passage, is it reasonable for the age of consent to be 14 why or why not?

In my opinion, I think that the current legal age of consent is too low. I think it should be 18. That is my opinion. Teens, 14 years of age, I think, aren't fully mature. I myself have seen some 14 year- olds do some stupid things. Some of them even act like idiots. Their inability to comprehend the meaning of the word mature has lead others to believe that they are nothing but a bunch of 5 year olds. The impression that others have is important as they can tell, by the way you act, how mature a person is. Think about it. A 14 year- old teenager is grade 9. They don't have enough education and experience to live in reality, let alone survive in it. I'm not implying that all 14 year- olds are like that. Based on statistics, most can tell that there is a fair amount of immaturity in the public. The legal age of consent should be changed in a way that the teenagers are mature before they do anything. How would you feel if your child was 14 years- old and had sex with someone you didn't know and got pregnant? Yes, it would be shocking. What is your opinion on this?

3. Should this even be a legal issue or should it be just a moral issue?

From my point of view, I think that it should be a moral issue. Even if it is a legal issue, I doubt that everybody would follow. Is this s minor law? If it is, I think that the government won't pay much attention to it. Once you cross the the line, there is absolutely no way that you can turn back. In addition, people cross the line all the time. To them, the law is no big deal. They still do it, regardless of the consequences. Why? The answer to that question varies depending on the person. Some things are still based on assumptions. This means that not everything is right. What has just been said kind of contradicts what I have said about people crossing the line all the time. We don't know, do we? The reason for it being a moral issue is about people having integrity. Will they fall in defeat, or celebrate in triumph? The guilt that is experienced causes an impact that is significant that can affect the judgement and thinking of the person. That is enough to deter them from doing something stupid. Unless the person is mature, he or she would most likely do something stupid. After all, things are not what they seem. What are your thoughts on this matter?

4. With consideration of 3 main purpose of sex and the legal ages for the other rights of passage, create a set of 6 rules to follow before sex can be engaged in.

- Test for STI's before sex (if positive, bad idea) (negative, giddy up)
- 6 months after test (STI's) before having sex
- Abstinence from sex until marriage
- Both participants know the negative and positive impacts protected and unprotected sex can have
- Communication fosters trust
-

5. From what age should these rules be applied?

In my opinion, I think the age that these rules should be applied is 18 year- old. (Refer to previous answers for details)

Tenage Pregnancy- A Female Perspective

1. What would you do if you were pregnant?
I would be shocked and tell my family and the father of the child. I would not abort the child and give birth to it and try my best to raise the child with or without the father's help.

2. Would you tell the baby's father? Why or why not?
Yes, I would tell the baby's father. The reason for this is because he has the right to know as it is his child as well. He has to take responsibility and raise the child as well.

3. How would having a child affect your life?
It would totally devastate my life as I am not ready for this tremendous responsibility. In addition, I have not completed my education, thus no proper job. Besides, I am still young and immature. If I was mature, this would not have happened in the first place. I would try to lead a normal life while taking care of the child.

4. How would you feel about giving your child up for adoption?
I would feel bad as the child will never know its true parents. That is unless I come and get when I am ready or he or she tries to find and me and succeed. I would give it to a responsible family member or close friend who is willing and able to support the child.

5. How would you feel about keeping your baby and raising it?
I would keep the baby only if I had support from either my friends, family or the baby's father. I would depend on others for help. If it is beyond my ability to take care of the baby, I would give it up for adoption, or give it someone else who is able to raise it.

6. Would you marry the baby's father?
I would marry the baby's father, only if he agrees to help raise the child. After all, he too, has to bear the responsibility of raising the child as he was the one who made me give birth to the child. Lastly, communication fosters trusts. We would be communicating much and therefore, fostering trust between the both of us.

7. How would your parents feel if you were pregnant?
They would feel both disappointed and shocked. This proves to them that I am still immature and unable to take care of myself, as far as sex is concern.

8. How would your friends feel about you if you were pregnant?
My friends would feel sorry for me. On the other hand, I think they would support me. After all, I'm their friend.

9. Would you want to keep seeing the baby's father?
Yes, I would want to keep seeing the baby's father. The reason for that is the fact that I'm going to need his help to raise the child. He also has a great responsibility. Besides, his help would make a difference in the upbringing of the child. How would the child feel if he or she didn't have a father?

Teen Pregnancy- A Male Perspective

1. How would you feel if your girlfriend were pregnant?
I would say that I'll be shocked. I am not ready for this responsibility. Besides, I am not finished with my education yet and I could not support them even I tried. I would take it in strike and hope for the best.

2. What do you think you and she should do?
In my opinion, I think we should try our best to raise the children and hope for the best. We should look for support among friends and family and try to lead normal lives, lives that were the same before the birth of the child.

3. How would having a child affect your life?
Having a child would drastically affect my life. Life would be quite hectic. I would try my best to support those whom I love. My top priority would be my family and my education. When I have finished my education, I can get a proper job and better support them.

4. How would you feel giving up your child for adoption?
I would feel bad for he child as it would never get to know its true parents. That is true, unless I come back to the orphanage and get it back. I would instead give it to my parents, the child's grandparents to take care of until I can take care of it myself.

5. How would you feel about keeping the baby and raising it?
I would only be able to take care of it for awhile. After that, I would give it to my parents to let them raise it until I get a job that can support my family. Until them, I would be concentrating on my education and getting a job.

6. Would you marry your girlfriend?
Until I finish my education, I would just maintain the same relationship that I had before. I would marry her when I am able to support my future family.

7. How would your parents feel if they knew your girlfriend was pregnant?
they would be both shocked and disappointed seeing that I put my girlfriend instead of my education. Both they and I know that education comes first, before relationships as without proper education, one cannot get a proper job and I would not be able to support my family.

8. How would your friends feel about you if they knew that your girlfriend was pregnant?
In my opinion, my friends would congratulate me and go all the way to help and support me. I know my friends. They won't let me down. Besides, a friend in need is a friend indeed.

9. Would you want to keep seeing your girlfriend?
Yes, I would want to keep seeing my girlfriend. She is the mother of the children she gave birth to. We would make plans for the the betterment of out children. Besides, both of us would be a disgrace to our family by separating. This is what mainly causes a relationship to strain and even fail.
